Intended parents come in different forms. From the traditional family of a heterosexual couple, to modern families of same sex couples and single parents, whether female or male. What do they all have in common? The desire to have children and form a family.
For some people, this is straight forward and they conceive naturally, or with some help from assisted reproduction, perhaps with artificial insemination or in vitro fertilization (IVF). But, what if you need more help than conventional IVF? What if you need to turn to third party reproduction, and in particular donor egg IVF to have children?
OvobankUS is a US based egg bank, brought to you by an international team of embryologists, doctors, cryobiologists and specialists in donor selection and testing. We aim to make accessing the donor eggs you need easier, quicker and ultimately more affordable, helping all those who need it, with better access to third party reproduction.
COMMON REASONS WHY WOMEN USE DONOR EGGS
In the field of assisted reproduction, we often hear that “Women are born with all the eggs they will ever have”. With each monthly menstrual cycle, several egg follicles are recruited and (usually) just one reaches maturity and is released in ovulation. As a woman ages, the number of eggs she has gradually decreases, and become poorer in quality, until menopause is reached and with it the end of her fertile years.
Although for most women this occurs in the late 40s and early 50s, some women experience premature ovarian insufficiency (POI), sometimes called early onset menopause. There are also conditions which mean a women may have no ovaries, no eggs or perhaps a genetic disease that her children could inherit. These are all reasons to seek a egg donor to start a family.
DONOR EGGS FOR SAME SEX MALE COUPLES AND SINGLE MEN
Q. What do all intended parents have in common?
A. The desire to have children.
Q. What don’t all intended parents have in common?
A. Their reproductive systems!
Although the desire to become parents may be just as strong with gay couples or single men, they need help from assisted reproduction to achieve this dream. In these family models both donor eggs and a gestational surrogate are essential for them to be able to cradle their baby in their arms.
4 STEPS TO RECEIVING YOUR OVOBANKUS DONOR EGGS
Step 1. Access www.ovobankus.com. You can register here to see our donor profiles and information. If you already have a clinic, you can enter your clinic code to access all the information. You can also contact our coordinators directly, who will be on hand to answer all your questions, as many times as you need.
Step 2. Choose your donor. We have detailed donor information such as photos, medical history, likes, education, medical and genetic screening results and if provided, a personal video message from the donor herself. We recognize the need for donor diversity and representation, and recruit our donors from strategic locations to bring you a wide variety of phenotypes, races and ethnic groups.
Step 3. Consider taking advantage of our Clinical Pregnancy Program. In the event that your treatment doesn’t get the desired result, this program ensures you receive further batches of donor eggs (depending on the level of cover you choose) until your pregnancy is confirmed by positive b-hCG and ultrasound. You can choose how many batches of donor eggs to be covered by in this program, and our coordinators will be happy to talk you through it and how it works.
Step 4. Place your order online. Once the fertility center has accepted the selected and requested donor and the necessary paperwork has been completed, the shipment will be prepared and sent as soon as possible. The exact time taken will depend on each case and your coordinator will liaise with you about the date and time of delivery.
