How to select my egg donor – Step by step

Table of Contents

Egg donation or Donor Egg IVF (DEIVF) is an assisted reproduction treatment based on in vitro fertilization (IVF). For women who are unable to conceive with their own eggs, it provides them with the chance to have a baby by means of using frozen eggs which were donated by a healthy young woman.

OvobankUS has an diverse pool of egg donors of different nationalities, ethnicities and backgrounds. They’re young women between the ages of 18 and 33 who are in good physical and mental health. To guarantee this, they undergo comprehensive gynecological, psychological, serological and genetic tests. Our exclusion criteria are very strict, meaning that only one third of potential donors are deemed eligible to participate in the program.

Building a family with DEIVF is different for every prospective parent. At OvobankUS, we understand that each patient has unique needs and questions. When a couple initiates an egg donation treatment, they tend to have concerns about the various stages of the process, including how to select the ideal donor. Although physical appearance is one of the most common concerns, genetics is undoubtedly the most important factor for prospective parents.

With this in mind, OvobankUS puts at your disposal our team that is specialized in phenotypic and genetic matching to help with the selection of your ideal donor, thereby increasing the probabilities of achieving a successful outcome. Our support team conducts a thorough search of all our donors, selecting only those who are compatible with the patient.

When we refer to compatibility, we mean both from a phenotypic and genetic point of view. Here you can read in more detail about the importance of genetic compatibility to minimize the transmission of genetic diseases to children born thanks to DEIVF.

4 SIMPLE STEPS TO RECEIVE YOUR OVOBANKUS DONOR EGGS

Step 1:

Go to www.ovobankus.com and click on “Find your donor”, or you can register here to view our donor profiles and information. If you have already decided on a fertility clinic, you can enter the clinic code to access all the information. Of course, you can contact our coordinators directly, and they’ll be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Step 2:

Choose your donor. We provide detailed donor profiles, including information on their medical history, the results of medical studies and genetic testing, education, interests, photos, and where provided, a personal video message from the donor.

Step 3:

Consider taking advantage of our Clinical Pregnancy Program. If your DEIVF treatment isn’t successful on the first attempt, this program ensures that you will receive additional donor egg batches (according to the selected program) until your pregnancy is confirmed. Our coordinators will be happy to explain how the programs work, and the terms and conditions of each option.

Step 4:

Place your order online. Once the clinic has accepted the selected donor, and the paperwork has been completed, the batch is prepared and shipped as soon as possible. The delivery time can vary, but your coordinator will keep you informed at all times.
